Judy, Ed KN4KL, Butch KE4AZL, and me W4THN.
Twelve present.
Old Business
1. Passed
around some pictures and data of interest. Some data on the special event “Museum Ships
on the Air” which we participated in.
2. Ron
held up a stack of about 100 QSL cards, we need to order some soon. It was approved last month.
3. Field
day is over now, discussed it some. The
field day crew amassed 11,112 points, the highest ever in this club
effort. Over 500 points more than last
year.
4. Reported
that the PO box is due Sept. 30, 2009.
Ron will take care of it.
5. Al
reported on T-shirts. Only two needed
and he has found a close look alike we can order. John and I want the shirts.
New Business
1. Sally
wants to take down Jack’s tower and the antennas due to concern over
hurricanes. She is planning a trip to England
soon. Ron will see about a crew to take
it down.
2. Discussed
adding another Special Event to make it four for the year. Need one more in the fall so after some
discussion we picked the decommissioning of the Wisconsin BB-64 the last time
in September ’91. Due to other events we
picked the last week end in September this year to have it. The dates will be September 26/27, 2009. Ron will notify Nauticus that we will be
coming. Current special events are
Wisconsin QSO Party in March, Museum Ships on the Air in June and Pearl Harbor day in December.
Meeting was adjourned at 1322.
Notes: Wisconsin and Iowa
are two BB’s that congress ordered the navy to keep in case of future need for
shore bombardment. (NDAA of 1996). Norfolk must
keep Wisconsin
in good condition. A Google search gives
lots of info on Wisconsin.

Vernon Fix, w4thn Secretary
