Sal opened
the meeting at 1:17pm.
Sal mentioned
that this will be the last meeting before we have the
“Museum Ships on the Air” event June 7th and 8th. Ron had
a sheet showing the rankings of the various ships. The top ship with the most
contacts is the USS Little Rock. We were around number 5. Sal has a list of all
the ships that have signed up for the event so
far. There are 41 of them. He said that there would be 65 to 70 signed up
before the June
Date. He is asking for people to
sign up for operating in
the event. This will be from 10am to
4pm each day.
There was a question as to whether this was Harbourfest weekend. Ron saw “Tom”
and was asking him if there was any news about the ship’s transfer to the city.
He says things are in a muddle and he thinks our special event should be OK. We
need to firm this up with the powers that be. Sal said he would look into this.
Butch would like to string up the antennas the week
before. Ruth Bigeo
of the Chesapeake club has
announced that there will be a skywarn class May 14 at 6pm. This will
be held at 304
Albermarle Ave. in
Chesapeake. This is the
Public Safety building behind City Hall. Sal said that he had a list of
suggested frequencies for the Ship’s
event. Ron mentioned that today is the day for crossbanding
with the military stations. Al is still looking for WA4N!
Terry
reported that we have $1233.75 in the bank and $91.90 in petty cash
for a total of
$1325.65.
Sal closed
the meeting at 1:28pm
